Mississippi State Head Football Coach, Sylvester Croom resigned Saturday morning following his team’s 45 – 0 loss to Ole Miss in the final game of the 2008 season. Croom owns a 21-38 overall record as the Bulldog’s leader and a 9 – 31 SEC record.
According to sources inside the program the team was notified via text message of Croom’s decision to step down as the Bulldog’s head coach.
Still there is no official word coming from the MSU athletic department, but that is expected to take place early Saturday afternoon.
Following yesterday’s loss Croom said he would evaluate his team’s situation and make a decision once he returned to Starkville. It took less than 24-hours for Croom to reach his decision.
